Who are you? What do you do?
So the name is Ricky Peace, 22 years old. Born in Renton Washington, and lived in the greater Seattle area until the age of 11. I moved to the little town of Rainier, where I graduated from high school in 2007. Growing up in a family without the Lord, I found my fixes in life to be all the things the world has to offer. July 17th 2007 God came a wrecked my life, and it hasn’t been the same since! That fall I went to Pacific Lutheran University to play football. Once the season was over I felt like I was wasting my time doing something, school, which I had no passion for. I dropped out after the winter term, and started preparing for a school in Perth Australia geared towards sports and learning more about this God fellow. I made it back to the great U S of A Christmas night 2008 with new perspectives of all different sorts. I stepped into leading Rainier High Young Life for the rest of that year, and moved on to the Yelm High Young life team from 2009 to current. I’ve been working as a commercial floor covering installer, predominately on the Joint Base Lewis McChord Field since January 2009.
What are your Goals/Dreams/Ambitions?
This area of my life is somewhat hard to articulate into words. In my younger years I would have said that I didn’t bother looking too far into the future and would just take today and make the most of it. And to be honest, that thinking still resides in me, but the Lord has shown me time and time again that without goals, or dreams to look forward to, I exhaust myself with the day to day routines. So here are some goals if you will:
-Learn as many languages as I can-enough to communicate the gospel clearly
-Learn to play guitar
- Get to a point in life where all I own is a backpack full of clothes, a guitar and live on the streets
It all comes down to this- Love God, and Love His people, so whatever, wherever, I’m down.
